- A healthy dog and cat can be bathed no more than once a week. Of course, we recommend using good shampoos and never products for humans. Our skin and the skin of our pets differs considerably from each other.
- A pet has its own characteristic odour, which is not always pleasant for us. Groomers use a special degreasing powder during combing, which also removes the pet's odour, unfortunately, it belongs to the class of professional cosmetics and therefore it is not always possible to buy it for home use. The groomer applies the powder to the pet, rubs it into the skin and then brushes it out with brushes along with the greasepot. For home use, dry shampoo is sold in pet shops, it is used in the same sequence, but of course not more than once a week, so as not to dry out the skin.
- Pet shops sell a huge variety of brushes and combs for animals. For cats and fluffy dogs, fluffers and furminators are most commonly used. For long-haired, smooth dogs, metal combs are used. Of course, it is better to seek the services of a groomer once a month, but if you can't do it for one reason or another, the minimum we can do to help our friend is to comb him out ourselves at home.
- Hairless animals are a whole separate topic. How pleasant it is to touch a "skinned pet" when it is properly cared for. They get dirty very quickly, so they should be washed at least once a week, and a suitable and non-allergic facial tonic should be chosen for daily use. If the pet has visible acne - you can even use scrubbing products, again you should try this on a limited area of skin first to rule out an allergic reaction. Some pets can even be treated with baby oil to moisturise the skin once a day (after consultation with a dermatologist or groomer).
- Dogs with a distinctive undercoat, such as huskies, spitzes, huskies, etc., should never be cut. There is a high probability of X-alopecia in this pet after shearing, which will manifest itself either as complete baldness or partial baldness - the hair may grow in shreds. This will not affect the general condition of the pet, but aesthetically it will look unpleasant.
